Duel Opinions: Steelers/Cowboys Keys to the Game

Our panel of writers came together to preview this week’s Ravens game, by each finding a single battle they felt would be the “key to the game” for the Steelers to emerge victorious.

Here are those results:

Brian

Minimize the running game and remain disciplined in rushing lanes to keep Prescott in the pocket. Make him win with his arm.

On our side unleash the O. Go hurry-up from the start and put them on their heels.

Terry

Stop stop stop their running game! Dak is good but with Heyward back… and Dak hasn’t felt a James Harrison bull rush yet, he’ll get rattled.

For the offense: “follow Ben.”

Time for no huddle. Let Ben run it and win the game.

Joe

My key is Ben playing like the Ben we know, especially at home. I’ve already predicted a Big Ben game, 350 passing yards and 3-4 touchdowns against a suspect Dallas defense which will be missing Morris Claiborne and Barry Church in the secondary.

I hate downplaying any opponent and thinking they’re overrated, but the Cowboys have played some weak opponents. So have the Steelers, but it bodes well this game is being played at Heinz Field, and that Pittsburgh may finally being playing at close to 100% health to start the second half of their season.

Eric

My key is containing Dak Prescott.

Our past two games we’ve struggled containing the quarterback and have allowed them to frequently escape the pocket and convert third downs with their legs. That was Joe Flacco and Tom Brady – two players not really know for their mobility.

Prescott has shown that he is a very mobile player, so keeping him contained in the pocket will be a big factor in stopping their offense.
