When you think of Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell you probably picture a play like the one above; which is a fair assessment, especially when “Boz” made six field goals in this very game where he made an even bigger play.

His impact would be felt in the second quarter as the Steelers special teams coverage broke down, allowing Bengals kick returner Alex Erickson to sprint beyond the last line of defense; including the speedy Artie Burns who was also a collegiate track athlete.

However, it wasn’t Burns who would make a touchdown-saving tackle with a hustle play. No, that would be another player, but just not any player: a kicker.

And not just any kicker from the looks of it!

Chris Boswell gives his all, laying out to tap Erickson’s back foot into the other, knocking the returner off balance and saving a touchdown which would’ve represented the very four-point difference which separated the Steelers and Bengals on the final score: 24-20.
