At 23 years of age, most people would be surprised to know that Jesse James is entering his third NFL season. The former fifth-round selection operated as the third tight end behind the legendary Heath Miller and veteran Matt Spaeth in 2015, while unexpectantly becoming the Steelers starter in 2016 following the retirement of both tight ends plus an injury to free agent acquisition Ladarius Green.

Many feel James would be an adequate number two, but he has been a steady number one who saw a great share of playing time last season. The Steelers will move ahead with “The Outlaw” as their top tight end going into training camp, and barring any setbacks, James could be Ben Roethlisberger‘s go-to guy in 2017.
