Watch: Martavis Bryant back to his old tricks

Steel City Underground will pick a play of the game from each side of the ball each week of the Steelers 2017 season. Stay tuned as we hand select the very best from the black and gold!

Answering who might step up in Antonio Brown‘s absence is a tough question. How do you replace one of the NFL’s top receivers?

A simple answer may be that you cannot replace AB, however, it’s a reality the Steelers are faced with in the short term. Enter Martavis Bryant, a player who was suspended all of last season and whose return was highly anticipated. Many felt that Brown and Bryant would form a receiver duo where each would be considered a “WR1”.

Following a disappointing start to the season where Bryant was even benched for some of his comments, the young man is coming into his own as the games matter more. With a one-handed touchdown grab last week, Bryant’s impact was immediately felt in the first quarter of Monday’s game.

With the Steelers facing a 3rd and 3 at midfield, Ben Roethlisberger connected with his receiver for 36 yards, while Martavis gets both feet inside of the boundary with a precision catch.

The Steelers would score three plays later.
