2017 Steelers Week 5 Defensive Play of the Game: Shazier continues to make plays

Steel City Underground will pick a play of the game from each side of the ball each week of the Steelers 2017 season. Stay tuned as we hand select the very best from the black and gold!

I realize I had to look past a dismal game this weekend to find something positive, and on the defensive side of the football, I didn’t have to look too far for a play considered worthy of the “play of the game”.

As noted in our “You Make The Call” column, Ryan Shazier was actually credited with an interception, and not a fumble recovery, for this wild play in which he strips Jaguars tight end James O’Shaughnessy of the football.

While the end result couldn’t have been predicted at this point, the Steelers were currently down 7-3 with 45 seconds left in the second quarter. They were able to put together a 45-yard drive which ended the half with a Chris Boswell field goal, as Shazier continues to prove he is a game changer in the NFL.
