SCU’s 2017 NFL Pick’em: Week 10

Each week a panel of SCU contributors will pick their winners and losers. Let’s see who does the best by the end of the season!

Oh, how the NFL deceives us on a weekly basis! If there were ever a season for parity in pro football, it’s 2017.

The New York Jets, and Tommy Jaggi, were winners on Thursday Night Football, while the rest of our field incorrectly chose the Buffalo Bills to triumph. Our panel had a clean sweep with the Saints, Eagles, and Jaguars, but unfortunately put our picks in by Thursday morning ahead of news that Texans QB Deshaun Watson injured his ACL and would be out for the season.

The Colts ended up winning their game against a Watson-less Texans squad, while a Packers team without Aaron Rodgers continues to struggle. But the biggest surprise may have been the number of blowouts last weekend, with the Rams wiping out the Giants and the Broncos getting busted by the Eagles.

This week our crack team borders on the near unanimous in most games. No one believes in the Cardinals, Bengals, Colts, or Texans, while a few are playing spoiler with wins for the Browns, Packers, Chargers, Broncos, Dolphins, and yes, the winless 49ers as well.

Here are SCU’s picks for Week 10.

Current Standings

Tommy gained the most ground during Week 9 with his 10-win week, followed by some eight and nine records. Mike Drakulich continues his dominance with a three-win lead over Joe Kuzma, while Mike Pelaia gained ground and moved up to third, just one spot behind Joe.

Everyone else is close in record as well, but need to gain some ground by going contrarian in their choices!
