SCU’s Best NFL Jersey Tournament Round 2: Bears vs. Panthers

Welcome to Steel City Underground’s latest March Madness creation: The “Best” NFL Jersey Tournament!

For a recap of how we set this up, plus results thus far, please refer to our main SCU March Madness page.

Second Round

Today’s contest is the classic Bear versus the modern day Panther. Carolina brought a new style of class to the NFL when they entered the league a little over two decades ago, while the Bears have stuck with their roots which harken back to the pro football’s beginnings.

Here’s how the two teams look:

(25) Chicago Bears

“Da Bears” are another team who has stuck to tradition, seldom making any adjustments to their uniform. You can look at decades worth of Bears photos and see very little difference in their navy and orange uniforms.

The initials “GSH” on their sleeves were added in 1984 in memory of “Papa Bear” George Stanley Halas, Sr.

The Panthers uniforms are a modern classic. They haven’t changed much, if anything, since entering the league over 20 years ago. Their “Carolina Blue” matches a similar theme seen throughout their home state of North Carolina.
