Watch: James Conner’s one-handed grab that didn’t count

Steel City Underground will pick a play of the game from each side of the ball each week of the Steelers 2018 season. Stay tuned as we hand select the very best from the black and gold!

There were plenty of bizarre occurrences in the Steelers loss Sunday afternoon to the Kansas City Chiefs, but none may make the highlight reel more than a play that statistically doesn’t count.

With the Steelers trailing 21-0 early, the team rallied by scoring 14 points to close the gap to seven. With about a minute left before halftime, Pittsburgh would attempt to tie the game with an up-tempo offense.

QB Ben Roethlisberger would initially look to his running back James Conner, before feeling pressure and aiming Conner’s way. Conner, who will be interfered with on this play (resulting in a pass interference call in his favor) actually makes a spectacular one-handed catch, but unfortunately he is ruled out-of-bounds, so the play, statistically, does not count.

However, it is a heck of an athletic feat to witness!
