The Steelers defense struggled on Sunday night, but one play stood out as Pittsburgh had its back against the goal line during the second quarter in a situation that looked like it would result in the Baltimore Ravens extending their lead to 21-3.

The defense had forced the Ravens into a three-and-out, but the Steelers were forced – after Ben Roethlisberger led a 55-yard drive, completing four-of-six passes – to rely on a Chris Boswell field goal after Brandon Carr punched the ball out of JuJu Smith-Schuster‘s hands in the end zone.

On the following drive, Joe Flacco had the Ravens in a first-and-goal situation at the Pittsburgh two-yard line in large part due to a 71-yard catch-and-run by receiver John Brown. Running back Alex Collins took the handoff, but Sean Davis was able to streak in on the play and strip the ball loose. Rookie Terrell Edmunds recovered the loose ball at the one-yard line effectively stopping a scoring opportunity for Baltimore and getting the Steelers offense back on the field.
