Watch: Vance McDonald’s clutch touchdown breathes life into the Steelers

Steel City Underground will pick a play of the game from each side of the ball each week of the Steelers 2018 season. Stay tuned as we hand select the very best from the black and gold!

The Steelers were starring at a 16-point deficit with minutes remaining in the third quarter, but caught a break from a 78-yard Ben Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown touchdown pass that helped close some of that gap to ten points (following a missed two-point attempt).

Needing more scores and in a hurry, the Steelers were driving late in the fourth quarter… on a day when things weren’t clicking for the most part, they clicked when they had to.

Roethlisberger caps off an 8-play, 80-yard drive in just a little over two and a half minutes of playing time with an outstanding pass placed where only his beast of a tight end, Vance McDonald, can get it.

McDonald continues to be a bigtime playmaker as he high-points the football, up and away from Jaguars LB Telvin Smith and a safety in coverage underneath, paving the way for the Steelers unlikely come-from-behind win Sunday afternoon.
