Plays of the Year: James Conner’s first NFL touchdown

Steel City Underground presents “Plays of the Year” featuring the tops runs, catches, hits and everything else in-between from the Pittsburgh Steelers 2018 season.

On a sloppy Sunday afternoon battle to open the 2018 regular season, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns were both knotted at 0-0 as the Black and Gold needed a spark.

That spark would come from second-year running back James Conner, who was filling in as the starter in place of the disgruntled (and absent) Le’Veon Bell.

Receiving his first NFL career start, Conner would have a successful first half against the Cleveland Browns rushing for 46 yards — and this touchdown which put the Steelers up 7-0 in the second quarter.

The play capped off a ten-play 88-yard drive, in which Conner’s teammates looked genuinely happy for him.

Conner would finish the day with 135 yards rushing and two touchdowns plus another five receptions for 57 yards and go on to have a very successful 2018 season.
