Steelers Throwback Thursday: James Harrison’s strip-sack before halftime

Steel City Underground presents “Steelers Throwback Thursday” featuring plays from recent seasons which you may have forgotten about! Now we’re “bringing them back!”

Did we forget about the last time the Miami Dolphins traveled to Heinz Field?

I’m not quite sure that the Miami Dolphins were prepared for how their Wild Card encounter with the Pittsburgh Steelers started, but I am sure they weren’t ready to give up.

The Dolphins found themselves down early in the game by a count of 14-0. Closing in on halftime, they were able to send two field goal attempts through the uprights to close the gap to 20-6 Steelers advantage. A promising drive led them down the field, poised to strike from the Pittsburgh 8-yard line with first and goal to go, and two of their timeouts still remaining. There was plenty of time to attempt to get another score and hope for a close game.

However, Steelers linebacker James Harrison had another idea. With a three-man front, the Steelers send Harrison blitzing from Miami quarterback Matt Moore‘s blind side. Moore sees the rusher, but not in enough time to prevent what happens next!

The Steelers headed to the locker room up 20-6, and eventually closed out the game with a 30-12 victory.
