Color Rush jerseys give the Steelers a superstitious advantage this Sunday against the Ravens

Sunday’s rescheduled game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens will mark the seventh time that the team has worn their alternate uniforms.

Generally, that is good luck for the Steelers, who have a 5-1 record in the special kit – with their first loss occurring in another rescheduled game, the Sunday Night Football clash between them and the Buffalo Bills late last season.

That also means Ben Roethlisberger, who is starting to enter league MVP chatter, is unbeaten in the gold block numbers.

Here’s how some of the previous Color Rush games have panned out for Pittsburgh.

Steelers 31, Ravens 27

Ironically, this was the first time that the Steelers unveiled the current Color Rush uniforms for another game played on a holiday against their heated division rivals.

The game was highlighted by a late Ben Roethlisberger drive where he found WR Antonio Brown for a touchdown later dubbed “the Immaculate Extension”.

Steelers 40, Titans 17

The only time the Steelers wore their Color Rush uniforms in 2017 was a route of the Tennessee Titans.

As once dictated by the NFL and Nike relationship, the jerseys were exclusively worn for Thursday Night Football games. This contest would be see the Steelers jump out to a 10-0 lead, then enter the fourth quarter clinging to a 23-17 advantage before scoring 17 unanswered points.

Steelers 52, Panthers 21

In another big blowout, the Steelers would route the Carolina Panthers at home. After starting the season 1-2-1, there was some doubt as to how good the Steelers were this season, but a statement game by the team saw backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs get some playing time before it was all said and done, sparked by a 24-point Steelers offensive flurry through the game’s first twenty minutes.

The Steelers finally got payback for when “Jesse Caught It” a year earlier during the same Week 15 matchup with the Patriots.

Steelers 24, Dolphins 14

A 2-4 Steelers team that started the season cold, and had lost Ben Roethlisberger, hosted the 0-6 Dolphins for Monday Night Football – and were immediately stymied when Miami went up 14-0 in the first quarter.

The Steelers would then score 27 unanswered points while the Dolphins would never score again.

Steelers 10, Bills 17

The Steelers would fall on their sword in a game which had major playoff implications, as Buffalo Bills fans followed their resurgent franchise to Pittsburgh, invading Heinz Field.

Pittsburgh had rebounded to an 8-6 record heading into the game, but would drop the game in defeat after Devlin Hodges threw four interceptions, including two late promising drives in Bills territory.
