When catching 106 passes is considered an “off year” you know you must be close to greatness.

That’s what Antonio Brown strives for every season, and despite having his lowest receptions total in four years, the Steelers receiver only fell one catch short of the league lead (held by Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald, who caught 107 passes).

Brown still excelled in other areas. He had his third-straight double-digit touchdown season and was recently rewarded with a $68 million contract extension by Pittsburgh. For all intents and purposes that contract should keep AB a Steeler for life, as it spans through the 2021 season.

While boatloads of money and having records created to keep up with your statistics are nice, one thing that continues to elude Antonio is a Super Bowl ring. Former teammate Emmanuel Sanders received bragging rights after being the first of the “young money crew” of Brown, Sanders, and Mike Wallace to win the big game. There’s little doubt that that, and being one win away from returning to the Super Bowl will fuel #84 going forward.
