It’s hard to not root for an underdog sometimes. In the case of 2016 seventh-round draft pick Tyler Matakevich, it seems as though we cannot stop rooting for him.

Matakevich is the focus of another special teams play of the week this week, following up his blocked punt in Week 1 with another spectacular, heads-up play last Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings punter Ryan Quigley stood back awaiting a snap on fourth-and-four after his team started the opening possession of the third quarter with a three-and-out. It appeared that the Steelers had forced the Vikings into a punt situation, but little did we know the opponent had no intention of kicking the ball.

However, Matakevich wasn’t fooled as Quigley received the snap and attempted a pass downfield toward the first down marker. Tyler makes a huge play, breaking up the pass, in the clip below.
