Filling Lawrence Timmons‘ shoes was thought to be a difficult job when the Steelers passed on the veteran linebacker to make way for Vince Williams as the starter for the 2017 season. However, Williams statistically surpassed something that even Timmons never did: 8 sacks in a single season.

Timmons’ best season saw him get 7 sacks in 2009 and he only hit 6 one other time (2012).

With this sack on Sunday, Williams walked past he predecessor with his eighth sack, as the Steelers set a team franchise record and took the league lead for sacks with 56.
