The most anticipated games on the Steelers 2024 schedule
The 2024 NFL schedule was released on Thursday, culminating the weeks and months of anticipation to see when and where the biggest matchups of the year will be taking place.
The Pittsburgh Steelers schedule is no different. Steelers Nation is excited for several games that are on the slate.
But which games are the most anticipated ones of the season?

Week 1 @ the Atlanta Falcons
The Steelers 2024 NFL season kicks off on the road against the Atlanta Falcons. This will be the first opportunity to see a new quarterback under center for Pittsburgh. Whether that QB is Russell Wilson or Justin Fields, the storyline heading into this game will be about offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
Smith was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons for the previous three seasons and is returning home in his very first game since being fired.
Week 2 @ the Denver Broncos
Like Smith facing his former team in Week 1, the NFL masterfully setup this Week 2 matchup for Russell Wilson to face his former team right out of the gate too.
Wilson was traded to the Broncos in 2022 and spent his next two seasons there before unceremoniously falling out with new head coach Sean Payton.
Will Wilson have a “revenge game” for the ages against his former teammates?
Week 5 vs. the Dallas Cowboys
The Steelers second home game of the season sees an old nemesis come to town for the first primetime game on Pittsburgh’s schedule.
The Steelers and Cowboys are set to face off on Sunday Night Football. This could be the first true test for the Steelers on the season as they matchup against Dak Prescott and company in a nationally televised bout.
This game will have a lot riding on it, but most of all, ticket sales and sportsbooks will be the benefactors. Promos created by sportsbooks enable and engage fans to bet on sports ensuring that they aren’t just passive but active spectators in the stadium. This could lead to an invasion of Cowboys fans, as we last saw back in 2016 when the Steelers offense had to deal with crowd noise due to the influx of the opponents fanbase.
All of the above should make for a memorable encounter.
Week 11 vs. the Baltimore Ravens
The first time the Steelers will face an opponent within their division will occur during Week 11 when the take on their rival the Baltimore Ravens.
With the Ravens struggling to beat the Steelers in recent years, especially in Pittsburgh, this game is sure to be the highlight of the Sunday 1:00 PM EST kickoff slate. Will Baltimore get revenge after being swept in 2023?
Week 17 vs. the Kansas City Chiefs
Finally, as disgruntled as some fans are about this Christmas Day encounter with the defending Super Bowl champions, no one can argue this is must-see TV.

Move over Santa, because the side attraction to this game could be a tale of significant others off of the field. Pop superstar Taylor Swift (girlfriend of Chiefs TE Travis Kelce) could be trading jabs with Russell Wilson’s wife Ciara, who is a platinum recording artist all her own.
