The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t get off to the start they wanted against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but Jaylen Warren needed only one play to change that.
Indianapolis opened the scoring with a 57-yard field goal before Pittsburgh’s first possession went backward and ended with a punt. After another Colts possession resulted in a punt, the Steelers took over at their own 20-yard line trailing 3-0.
That’s when Warren provided the spark.
Aaron Rodgers found Warren on a short pass to the right, and the running back did the rest, racing 80 yards for a touchdown to give Pittsburgh a 7-3 lead. The entire scoring drive lasted just 12 seconds.

The play was a sign of what was to come from Warren, who turned in his biggest performance of the season. He finished with 101 rushing yards on 15 carries while adding six receptions for 87 yards, giving him 188 yards from scrimmage.
Warren wasn’t finished making explosive plays, either. With Indianapolis having pulled within 17-16 in the third quarter, he broke loose for a 50-yard rushing touchdown that restored Pittsburgh’s eight-point advantage.
Those two touchdowns accounted for 130 yards by themselves and helped the Steelers produce the explosive plays that had too often been missing from their offense through the first month of the season.
Pittsburgh went on to defeat Indianapolis 34-22, improving to 3-2 on the season.
