The Indianapolis Colts had just made things uncomfortable for the Pittsburgh Steelers when Jaylen Warren delivered another explosive answer.
Indianapolis opened the second half by driving to the Pittsburgh three-yard line, but the Steelers defense kept the Colts out of the end zone and forced them to settle for a field goal. That cut Pittsburgh’s lead to 17-16 and put some pressure on the offense to respond.
The Steelers did exactly that, with a fourth-down conversion helping keep the ensuing possession alive before Warren provided the payoff.
On first down from midfield, Warren took the handoff from Aaron Rodgers, found an opening and broke loose for a 50-yard touchdown. The score pushed Pittsburgh’s advantage back to 24-16 with 7:16 remaining in the third quarter.

The touchdown was significant for another reason: it was Pittsburgh’s first rushing touchdown of the season. The Steelers had gone through their first four games without scoring on the ground before Warren finally ended the drought in a big way.
It was also Warren’s second explosive touchdown of the afternoon. He had already turned a short Rodgers pass into an 80-yard score in the first quarter, giving him touchdown plays of 80 and 50 yards in the same game.
Warren finished with 101 yards on 15 carries and added another 87 yards on six receptions. His 188 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns led the way as Pittsburgh pulled away for a 34-22 victory and improved to 3-2.
