Watch: Vintage Ben Roethlisberger escapes Bengals pressure, tosses TD to Smith-Schuster

Steel City Underground will pick a play of the game from each side of the ball each week of the Steelers 2020 season. Stay tuned as we hand-select the very best from the Black and Gold!

Steelers keep the magic rolling with their 9-0 win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ben Roethlisberger continues to impress everyone except certain individuals after this stellar performance. He also showed us why he is the master of the pocket.

In the middle of the second quarter the Steelers were at a 3rd and goal. Ben is in the gun with a bunch set and a stack on the left with Diontae Johnson and Jaylen Samuels. Juju-Smith Schuster and Chase Claypool are in the bunch. As Ben snaps the ball, the Bengals defense drops back to guard the end-zone.

Both Samuels and Johnson are wide open. Juju runs a crosser into the back of the end zone as Ben gets pressured off the right side.

What we see next is the “old man” still gets shifty when he needs to! As he steps up in old Big Ben fashion he effortlessly lobs the ball right in the gap to meet Juju for a score.

It is satisfying when you see the visible frustrations of defenders when they get beat. The reaction shows why when Big Ben gets in that zone, he is almost unstoppable.

Ben finished the day 27/46 for 333 yards and 3 touchdowns. I honestly believe he is just getting started.

Watching this game today showed me that Pittsburgh running the table is possible if the offense does what it did on Sunday consistently.

Also, I like Ben calling plays. It is refreshing to see the ball moving at a faster rate.

It is a wonderful time to be a fan of this team right now. They are making history this year and I want to see how far they can take this momentum for the rest of the season. Onto the next game!
